“We need a direct small business saver because it’s not just the wages that a small business has to pay for their employees, even if they can open. There’s rent, there’s insurances, there’s all those sorts of things.” – Bill Lang, executive director at Small Business Australia

As Australia heads into the lockdown, in your opinion, do we think do we reckon you know that JobKeeper may need to be reintroduced to allow small businesses to survive and to keep people into work? What do you see there?
Bill Lang
You know, JobKeeper would appear to have put some money in some people’s pockets that they still haven’t spent that money so they necessarily need it so was the big amount of money that went out there. We’ve always been doing it, we need a direct small business saver because it’s not just the wages that a small business has to pay for their employees, even if they can open. There’s rent, there’s insurances, there’s all those sorts of things. So it needs to be more direct and more adequate with respect to that.
