“We’re hearing pretty positive messages from the Australian Government around considering places like Singapore and I think as the vaccination rates go up in those countries, as well as here in Australia, and we see the confidence with which in the way the implementation with New Zealand is working.”

In regards to these travel bubbles, I mean, it’s so exciting I can’t wait to go and you know, I think everyone’s eager to get on a plane and separate those, you know, get out of Australia for a little bit. Now we’ve seen New Zealand and that’s going to be a positive step.

Do you think we will see other travel bubbles start to open up now potentially Singapore? Or are we going to see maybe the government wait and see how it goes in New Zealand first, and then that happens? What do you think?

Bill Lang – Small Business Australia

We’re hearing pretty positive messages from the Australian Government around considering places like Singapore and I think as the vaccination rates go up in those countries, as well as here in Australia, and we see the confidence with which in the way the implementation with New Zealand is working.

And if there are a small little outbreaks, the tracing systems can work and cope without having to close borders and shut everything down, somewhere like Singapore makes a lot of sense.

Look, another big opportunity we think for Australia is to think about creating Camp Australia for the international students. Let’s get a camping setup happening up in the Northern Territory, get the international students back for a couple of weeks quarantine, re-integrating in Australia and back to our universities in Melbourne and Sydney and Perth. So let’s have a bubble within Australia and get all the international students back.

Yeah, I love that because also these national students, they then fill up our cities, they fill up our restaurants they once we get them back into Australia and it’s sort of step by step process at the moment, isn’t it?
